1. What these terms cover
These terms govern your use of the website at smithchevyland.com. They are about the website: what you may do with it, what we promise about it, and what we do not.
They are not a contract of sale. This site is a catalogue and an information resource. It does not take orders, does not process payments and does not conclude sales. Anything that might become a purchase would be agreed separately by email, on terms stated in that correspondence.
By using this site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site.

3. What this site is
The site presents a catalogue of fishing tackle: rods, reels, bait, lures, boats, sonar units and accessories, together with written guides and practical notes about fishing.
Its purpose is to let you see what the range includes and to make it easy to ask a question. Each item has an enquiry button that takes you to the contact page with the item’s name filled in, so you can ask about it in a message you send yourself.
The site does not show prices, does not hold stock information, has no shopping basket and has no checkout. Descriptions and specifications are provided in good faith but are indicative. Illustrations are stylised artwork, not photographs of specific items, and should not be treated as an accurate depiction of any particular product.
4. Nothing here is an offer
No page on this site constitutes an offer capable of acceptance. Listing an item does not mean it is available, and does not commit us to supply it or to supply it on any particular terms.
If you write to us about an item, we may reply with availability and a price. Any resulting agreement is formed only when it is expressly confirmed in writing between us, and it is governed by whatever terms are agreed at that point, not by this page.
5. Using the site
You may read the site, use its features, and share links to it. You may print or save pages for your own personal, non-commercial reference.
You agree not to:
- use the site for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these terms
- copy, reproduce, republish or redistribute substantial parts of the content for commercial purposes without our written permission
- scrape, harvest, mirror or systematically extract content, whether manually or by automated means
- use automated tools that place an unreasonable load on the server
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, its server or any connected system
- probe, scan or test the security of the site, or circumvent any security or access control measure
- introduce malware, or anything else designed to damage, disrupt or degrade the site
- interfere with anyone else’s use of the site
- reverse engineer or decompile any part of the site, except to the extent that mandatory law permits it and prohibits its exclusion
- misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with any person or organisation
- use the contact facility to send unsolicited commercial messages, spam or abusive content
- remove or obscure any copyright or proprietary notice
6. Intellectual property
All content on this site, including text, guides, product descriptions, illustrations, page design, layout, source code and the SmithChevyLand name and logo, is owned by the operator or used with permission, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
Nothing in these terms transfers any intellectual property right to you. Limited permission to view and use the site does not grant a licence to reuse its content.
Some interface icons are based on shapes from Feather Icons, used under the MIT licence, as noted in the source code.
Third-party trademarks, product names and manufacturer names that appear on this site remain the property of their respective owners. Their use is descriptive only and does not imply endorsement, sponsorship or any commercial relationship.
If you believe content on this site infringes your rights, write to [email protected] with enough detail to identify the material and your claim. We will look at it promptly and remove anything that should not be there.
7. Content you send us
If you send us a message, a suggestion or feedback, you keep whatever rights you hold in it. You grant us permission to read it, store it and act on it for the purpose of responding to you and running the site.
Do not send confidential information through the contact facility. Email is not a secure channel, and we cannot treat what arrives through it as confidential unless we have separately agreed to do so.
How we handle personal data in messages is set out in the Privacy Policy.
8. Guides and advice
The guides, field notes and FAQ answers on this site are general information written from practical experience. They are not professional advice and do not take account of your particular circumstances, your water, your equipment or your level of experience.
Fishing carries real risks, particularly around water, ice, boats and electrical equipment. Anything on this site about boat use, ice conditions or safety equipment is general background and is not a substitute for proper training, local knowledge, current conditions or applicable safety regulations. You are responsible for your own safety and for complying with fishing licences, seasons, size limits and local rules where you fish.
9. Links to other sites
The site may link to third-party websites. We do not control them, do not endorse them, and are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or their privacy practices. Following an external link is at your own risk, and the terms and policies of that site will apply once you leave ours.
10. Availability
We aim to keep the site available, but we do not guarantee that it will be available at any particular time, uninterrupted, or free of errors. We may change, suspend or withdraw all or part of it at any time, without notice, including for maintenance, security or redesign.
We may also change these terms. The current version is always the one on this page, with the revision date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
11. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the site and its content are provided as they are and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the information on the site is complete, current or free of errors, that specifications are exact, or that any item shown is available.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, loss of data, or loss arising from your reliance on information on this site, from any inability to access the site, or from any malware transmitted through it.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. In particular, nothing here restricts the rights you have as a consumer under mandatory Norwegian law, and where any provision of these terms conflicts with those rights, your statutory rights prevail.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms or your unlawful use of the site. This does not apply to anything caused by our own breach or negligence.
14. Suspension of access
We may restrict or block access to the site from any person or network that breaches these terms, attacks the site, or places an unreasonable load on it. Where it is practical and appropriate, we will say why.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Ukrainian law, being the law of the operator’s place of establishment.
If you are a consumer resident in Norway or elsewhere in the EEA, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of your own country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
If you have a complaint, please raise it with us first at [email protected]. Consumers in Norway may also contact the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet) or the Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet, www.forbrukerradet.no) for guidance on consumer matters.
16. General
Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in force and the invalid provision is treated as modified to the minimum extent needed to make it enforceable.
No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
Entire agreement. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Legal Information page, are the whole agreement between us about your use of this site.
Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours if the site changes hands, provided your rights are not reduced.
Notices. Notices to us go to [email protected] or the postal address above. Notices to you go to the email address you have used to contact us.
Language. These terms are published in English, and the English text governs.
